Organizing regional meet-up
I was to host one of the workshops for TED Translators. Korean community is the third biggest language community in terms of the number of volunteers and topped at 5th in the number of subtitled TED talks. In 2018, we had two TED Translators meet-ups in Seoul and Jeju. Each one has a special meaning and shows a sign of thriving community. Based on the experiences, one of the Korean LCs, JY, and I co-hosted the workshop titled "Organizing regional TED Translators gathering".
We shared how we organized meet-ups in Seoul and Jeju, and what happened during and after the meet-ups. There were Turkish, Vietnamese, Serbian, Spanish, English, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language community together. After exchanging personal experiences and ideas, we brainstormed on how to organize regional meet-ups step by step.
